"Rebirth For Life"
Rebirth Brass Band" (2004)

Tipitina's Records is proud to release Rebirth for Life - the newest album from brass revival innovators the Rebirth Brass Band. Anchored by the funky tuba and earth shattering bass drum of the Frazier brothers this release marks the Rebirth's 20th Anniversary from the streets to the stage. Rebirth for Life not only captures the feel of a live show but also represents one of their most cohesive studio recordings in years.

Few bands can boast a 20-year history and maintain the level of vitality and enthusiasm of its formative years. The Rebirth Brass Band consistently travel the world performing for their loyal fan base throughout the world, headlining and sharing the stage with artists including The Grateful Dead, the Meters, the P-Funk All-Stars, Maceo Parker, Dr. John, The Ohio Players, and Ani DiFranco. They have recorded with artists including N'Dea Davenport, G. Love, Robbie Robertson, and the Wild Magnolias and have performed at virtually all major festivals including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Rokslide, Glastonbury Festival, Montreaux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and the Nice (France) Jazz Festival.

Recorded at Tipitina's 8th Floor Studios, the album was coordinated by executive producer Adam Shipley, produced by Lee Frank (producer of 2003's Straight from the Sixth Ward) and engineered by veteran technician Chris Finney.

"Straight From the Sixth Ward"
Various Artists (2003)

Tipitina's Records is proud to release Straight from the 6th Ward--a compilation of newly recorded material from New Orleans' finest brass bands--just in time for Mardi Gras. Old school meets new school on eight slamming original tracks by the Lil Rascals, Rebirth, New Birth, Treme, and the 6th Ward All-Stars brass bands. The 6th Ward All-Stars are a powerhouse group of brass band luminaries assembled especially for the compilation, featuring members of the Lil Rascals and Rebirth, and guest performances by vocalist Kermit Ruffins and trumpeter Troy Michael "Trombone Shorty" Andrews. Straight from the 6th Ward includes the hot new single "H.I.T." plus a bonus remix track by Eric Krasno of Soulive featuring MC Bedouin. With internationally known mainstays like the Rebirth, and up-and-coming talent like the Lil Rascals, this compilation carries the brass tradition into the 2000s.

Straight from the 6th Ward is a celebration of the Treme neighborhood's rich musical culture, a time-tested tradition and local treasure. Executive producer Adam Shipley and trombonist Corey Henry devised the concept for the CD, which was recorded at Tiptina's 8th Floor Studios, and produced by Lee Frank and engineered by Josh Nobles.
