Tipitina's has restructured its 8th Floor Studios under the direction of Adam Shipley, who, along with being the music director of the Uptown Club, will serve as studio manager. Tip's 8th Floor Studios, in conjunction with the Uptown Club, will continue to provide for local and national bands, a myriad of functions, from CD recordings and duplications to video production, and more. "We are looking to be the recording and creative hub of Tipitina's and New Orleans music," Shipley said. "We have everything a band can want and need, right down to the publicity. We are going to be doing both local and national projects." New Orleans based Infectious Publicity has joined Tipitina's in that capacity and will provide the publicity needs for projects in the studio, as well as for bands at Tipitina's Frontainebleau Studio Spaces. We now have 75 rehearsal spaces for bands, all filled with the cream of the crop of local talent. In addition to Shipley, Josh Nobles will handle studio production and Dan Frost will handle administration. It is the perfect situation for bands looking to be recorded. At Tipitina's Homegrown Night at the Uptown Club, bands can get a CD of their performance, as well as a multi-camera video, along with a live webcast. The same can be done from the studio. And with our Pro Tools system and 24 Track Digital ADAT, that CD can be edited to suit the client's needs. Additionally, our Final Cut Pro video editing system allows us to enhance the video, as well. Tipitina's also has a large rehearsal room for rent, by the hour ($25 per hour - 2 hour minimum). Below is a list of equipment the studio and rehearsal space features as well as pricing. | Big Boot Shimmy by Jonas Risin' | ||
Jonas
Risin' is a product of the deep musical influences and vitality that attracts
emerging talent to the Crescent City. The group was born out of the unbridled
spirit of guitarist John Siegel, singer Dave Barksdale, and drummer Jay
Robert who attended Tulane University together. They were inspired by the
wealth of New Orleans late night music including: the Funky Meters, Galactic,
George Porter, jr., and the Rebirth Brass Band. Tipitina's/Endangered
Species and Louisiana Red Hot Records are proud to release the debut album
Big Boot Shimmy by newcomers, Jonas Risin. The group will celebrate their
debut with a CD Release Party at Tipitina's Uptown, Friday, November 17,

Band will get the party rolling at 10:00 p.m. Jonas Risin' is an emerging
group in the great tradition of the Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton and Carlos
Santana. Their soulftil southern?rock sound is appreciated by a new generation
of music disciples. The band's dedication and recognition of rock and roll's
rich history is communicated through transcendental live performances and
beautifully captured on Big Boot Shimmy. Big Boot Shimmy was recorded at
Tipitina's 8th Floor Studios under the auspices of Cyril Neville aided by
veteran engineer Claude Bryant and producer Nick Daniels. Jonas Risin's
association with the venerable music institution allowed access to guest
star talent including: Cyril Neville (Vocals/Percussion) of the Neville
Brothers, Eric Traub (Saxophone) of Dr. John, Tim Green (saxophone) of Michael
Ray & the I Cosmic Krewe, and Theresa Andersson (Vocals). Expect exciting
