N’awlins Johnnys

Dubbed “NOLABILLY,” the musical style of The N’awlins Johnnys draws inspiration from many aspects of the vast and rich cultural landscapes of New Orleans, Acadiana and all points in between by incorporating elements of blues, roots rock, boogie-woogie, swing, funk and zydeco. Anna Purdy of The Times of Acadiana wrote on September 17, 2009: “It’s New Orleans jazzy rock played in wife-beaters, and they sound like guys who would be comfortable jamming in a backyard or at Tipitina’s.”

Since 2009, the Johnnys have been working nonstop to bring their music to the people and places that have helped inspire, support and cultivate it – holding their weekly "Nolabilly Review" at Banks Street Bar every Monday and unleashing their sound on a variety of venues, including the House of Blues’ Parish Room, the Maison, Carrollton Station, the Rusty Nail, Café Prytania, Lafayette’s Caffe Cottage, Artmosphere, the Blue Moon Saloon, the 2010 YLC Wednesday at the Square Concert Series, the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana’s 2010 Bach Lunch Concert Series and at the 2010 Geronimo Music Festival.
