Mean Willie
Green is one of the funkiest
drummers in the history of New Orleans music. He was discovered by
the Neville Brothers there and has remained their drummer for the past
14 years. The
Green Machine is the drummer's first excursion into a funk
realm all his own. The band blasts off with the funky support of Neville
Brothers sidemen Shane Theriot on guitar, Micahel Goods on keyboards, David
Johnson on bass and former Neville's and present Jewel member Tony Hall
on bass, guitar, and vocals and special guests. The Green Machine
combines the old school funk of Sly Stone, the New Orleans strut of the
Meters, and Mean Willie Green's dazzling, powerful drumming style.
The Rebirth Brass Band opens and the Green Machine will be playing
into the wee hours. This is a must see show for funk lovers!
