Young and Talented
New Orleans musical families are an important part of the social
fabric. Tricia Boutte-who also goes by the name Sista Teedy when performing
Carribean music--is the next generation of a long line of talented New Orleans
performers. From high school on Tricia worked with legendary talent such
as Edward Frank (pianist for Ester Phillips, Dr. John, and Lou Rawls) and
Joseph "Smokey" Johnson (Dave Bartholemew, Fats Domino, and Linda Ronstadt)
And Tricia was a part of that next generation which sprang out of the New
Orleans Center for Creative Arts, even playing piano with partner, young
Harry Connick Jr. Now just 31 years old, Tricia has enjoyed great success
performing the gambit of New Orleans musical styles. Most recently she has
been performing and recording with her reggae band, Cool Riddums on Allen
Toussaint's NYNO label. She has also continued her sessions work with an
even more varied bunch ranging from Professor Griff (Public Enemy) and Easy
E (NWA) to Nine Inch Nails. |
