Come on out to the Classic Rock
Challenge
Soulhat is virtually a Texas institution. And much like one of the
most famous and talented of Texas' native sons, Stevie Ray Vaughan, soulhat
got their start in the steamy, crowded clubs of Austin, the Live Music Capital
of the World. Soulhat is known as the band that added a feature: the Classic
Rock Challenge, in which the audience was asked to request a song to see
if the band could play it. Examples of their responses included a near-perfect
version of "Sweet Home Alabama" (when asked to play "Freebird"), Black Sabbath's
"Fairies Wear Boots," Foreigner's "Hot Blooded," Billy Idol's "White Wedding,"
and Tony Joe White's "Polk Salad Annie." |
