A Unique Guitarist who has
been around the block
Theriot was exposed to many kinds of music, from Cajun/zydeco to
rock and jazz, right from his childhood. He performed his first "professional
gig" at age 11, during the New Orleans World Fair. In 1990 he graduated
from musician institute with top honors. Theriot admires the amount of music
and culture in New Orleans. At Nashville, Shane performed and recorded with
great artists like Jo-El Sonnier, Lee Greenwood, a compilation record for
Schoolhouse Rock, former Allman Bros, keyboard man Johnny Neel, Crystal
Taliefaro, Sam Moore (Sam and Dave) and countless other jingles and demos,
as well as a recent release by bassist Adam Nitti featuring Dave Weckl,
Victor Wooten, and Joe Zawinul drummer Kirk Covington. He has been a member
of the Neville Brothers since 1996. Originally from the New Orleans area,
he now divides his time between New Orleans and Nashville, where in addition
to his work with the Neville Brothers he is also busy in the recording scene.
