Trumpeter, Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter
Born in Germany, Sarah lived and worked in New York, New Jersey, and New Mexico, before settling in to New Orleans. Her quest “to be where the musicians were at,” brought her to the Southland. She immediately set out to make the scene, sitting in at Blues jams and performing at open mics. Some of the early projects she was involved in included The Irie Dawtas reggae band, blues band Willie Jaye, The Texas Hurricane, and New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars founder Jonathan Freilich’s Naked On The Floor side project, which included famed Galactic drummer Stanton Moore. Her monthly gigs at the Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro (home base for Ellis Marsalis & Nicholas Payton), her weekly appearances in the horn section of the John Carey Blues Band, alongside Peter Gabriel alum, Tim Green, and her other shows in the Big Easy’s funkier venues performing her special brand of Grooving Singer Songwriter fare, illuminate the fact that this woman has a lot going on. real. |
