This veteran is a funky bass
man and an outstanding singer
Few people in the music industry have worked with as many people
as Nick Daneils III. Talk about your multi-tasker, Daniels is currently
the bass player and backup singer for the Cyril Neville R&B Revue, as
well as One Drop Plus, and Family Groove. In addition to that, he works
at Tipitina's 8th Floor Studios. Daniels started in the music industry when
he was just a pup, a fourth-grader playing drums wherever he could. he played
the congas for Sound Corp, which was the backup band for the Soul Impressions,
which later became Tavasco. He picked up the bass in 1976 and taught himself
to play, using George Porter, Jr. as his mentor. Once he mastered the bass,
Daniels came to play with the likes fo Allen Toussaint, the Neville Brothers
(twice), Etta James, Boz Skaggs, and Ivan Neville. Currently, Daniels, an
outstanding singer, as well as bass player, is working on his own CD, due
to come out next year. |
