old school of New OrleansAs a songwriter, L.J. Hamilton's songs have been recorded by such greats as King Floyd, Jean Knight, Johnny Adams, Wayne Cochran, albert King, and Etta James. He has played with the likes of Percy Sledge, Jackie Wilson, and Al Green, among others. Today, when L.J. sings and plays the piano, he can play the rhythms of honky tonks and speakeasys, wind his way through all the shades of the blues, and walk through the red-hot and ice-blue cool progressions of jazz. |
