| John Boutte | |||||
He is "contagious";
he’ll get under your skinJohn Boutte played trumpet and coronet from his schooldays. It gave him a opportunity to sing at the talent shows and then with street a-cappela groups like "Spirit" and "Remnant." One was his favorite tunes is a Korean Lullaby which he played on an antique gilded piano, near the Royal Street, when the whole world was sleeping. He took more interest in singing after he returned from the Army. He sang a lot with his sister Lillian Boutte, and visited Europe accompanying her. He sang the lovely "Black Orpheus" by Luis Bonfa on his album At The Foot Of Canal Street, which is the most beautiful rendition since Bonfa sang it himself. He is really contagious and people admire his songs, like riding on the coat tails of the butterfly. |
