Time to "Buckle Up"
with this first-call organist and pianist
Joe Krown moved to New Orleans in 1992 after honing his skills in
the Northeast. Since that time he as built a strong reputation as a first-call
organist and pianist in the Crescent City. He was recently nominated for
a Big Easy Award in the blues category. His third CD, Buckle Up,
was picked as the #4 CD in "Best of 2000" in OffBeat Magazine.
He was also seleceted as "Best Keyboardist, Editor's Choice" at
CitySearch.com for New Orleans. Krown, in addition to having his own combo,
has held the chair with the Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown Band since
1992 and is featured on the chart-topping The Man, Gate Swings and American
Music, Texas Style albums. Since 1996 he has held the traditional piano
slot at the Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans, which was once occupied by Professor
Longhair and James Booker. |
