Still crooning tunes after all
these years
He may be the lesser-known Harry Connick
in the music business but he's still got his day job as the District Attorney
of New Orleans, a title he has held since 1973. Ironically, music was what
put him through law school. He and his late wife, Anita, owned a record
store which did quite well; they eventually opened a second store. The two
would alternate working the store and going to school at Loyola University.
For Harry, it was an excellent means of keeping up with one of his great
loves since the days of buying and studying the weekly ten-cent song books
as a young man. Today Harry maintains his musical interest playing every
week at Tipitina's French Quarter still crooning the tunes he learned religiouly
as a young man. |
