Based in New Orleans, this group puts out a unique sound which is instantly recognizable. Trinidad and Tobago's creation, the pan (or steel drum), may still be an oddity to many, but in the hands of a virtuoso like Gregory Boyd, the instrument can bring forth unsurpased joy and beauty. Since leaving the U.S. Navy Steel Band Boyd has never looked back, building a reputation as a composer and performer both with his own band, VOS, and in collaborations with Charles Neville, Michael Ray and most recently the Basin Brothers.
