This singer/songwriter ready
to make waves
Currently based in New Orleans, singer/songwriter Elio Schiavo is
rapdily making a name for himself after his recent migration from the California
bay area. His latest project is Van 6, featuring himself, Cyril Neville,
saxophnist Tim Green, funky drummer David Tucker, bassist "Bearded"
John Stombly, and occasionally former Doobie Brothers keyboardist Dale Okerman.
Currently working on a CD, Elio's music is bold and speaks clearly to the
crowds he performs for. This is made evident by the great positive response
he garners from every single live performance. Elio's vocal style, which
is heavily rooted in R&B, soul and funk, blends perfectly with his contemporary
songwriting and production skills. His talents are showcased brilliantly
throughout his last CD release, Child of Orbit. Elio spent 11 years
on the California coast, where he developed his unique sound. During this
time he was involved in various projects as a singer, musician and producer.
Breaking into the New Orleans music scene has been rather effortless for
Elio. The well-crafted material Elio creates has attracted some of New Orleans'
finest musicians to join him. |
