Throughout his childhood, 23 year old Illinois resident Drew Young had been "forced like many" to learn a musical instrument in school. "At one point or another I was proficient at playing the piano, tuba, guitar and mainly the cello." Along the way he began experimenting with electronic music at the young age of 11 years old. Upon gradually making the change completely to this genre he was able to succeed at attaining his first 12-inch release at the age of 17, on Drop Bass. Receiving his first live gig came in January 1996, at an event called Perplexer. This opportunity came from a long time friend open to give Drew his chance at working a crowd. With much success at this event and continued support from Kurt of Drop Bass Records and a few others, Drew was able to follow up with more releases and gain a sturdy following. Over time, his reputation has landed him gigs throughout the Mid-West region of The United States. Mostly working alone for most of his career, Drew has worked with the likes of D.D.R. and has plans of working with talent such as The Geezer, Dave The Drummer and Chris Liberator. At this time, he continues to produce solo releases for Drop Bass and other labels. "I also am working on an hour long DVD/Video with OVT visuals which will also be available on cassette and c.d. as a sort of mix-tape", adds Drew. Drew Young is an accomplished talent that is looking to bring forth his acid techno style to new crowds throughout the world.
