A Versatile musician of all times
Led by 20 year old Derek Trucks, whose development has
been keenly followed ever since he picked up his first instrument at age
9, The Derek Trucks Band has been road-tested to a fine-tuned machine through
constant performing. As a current touring member of The Allman Brothers
Band on their 30th Anniversary Tour, Derek deftly handles his own amongst
the veterans. And when the Allmans see fit to take a break, the Derek Trucks
Band; who played on the 1998 H.O.R.D.E. Tour, have supported The Allman
Brothers Band, Joe Satriani, and Gov't. Mule, plays the clubs resulting
in Derek logging 300 shows a year. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Trucks
was 11 years old when he played his first paying gig. He soon held his own
in some pretty heavy company, jamming at an early age with Bob Dylan, Buddy
Guy, Widespread Panic, Chuck Leavell and Gregg Allman. More recently Derek
has performed with such diverse acts as Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler,
Phish, Susan Tedeschi, and Alana Davis. Derek describes the newest album,
Out of the Madness as "a cross between reaching back to the
old styles of the blues and moving forward with improvisational and Eastern
influences" |
