| A.J. Croce | ||||||
The greaest pianoist of all times Born in Philadelphia and raised in San Diego after his father's death in a plane crash, Croce survived a brain tumor that made him blind from ages four to 10, until he regained sight in his left eye. Diving into his music lessons, he was playing paying shows by age 12 and was in his first band by 16. From there Croce began holding down the regular piano chair at San Diego bars and playing in bands such as Romy Kaye & the Swinging Gates. His performance while inducting his father, Jim Croce, into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame earned an invitation from B.B. King to tour with him, brought Croce's eponymous first release in 1993 followed by 1995's That' Me in the Bar and 1998's Fit to Serve, long with worldwide touring during which he's shared stages with the Dave Matthews Band, Santana, Rod Stewart, Morphine, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Croce's particular favorite, Ray Charles. |
